Everything about the VFlux suite โ dashboards, surveys, live polls and reports.
VFlux is a suite of four connected tools for working with survey and programme data:
They share one login, so data collected in Collect can go straight into a dashboard or a report.
Yes. VFlux is free to use, with no per-user licence and no cap on how many people you share a dashboard with. The free QR code tool is open to everyone, without even signing in.
No. Everything runs in your web browser โ Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. There is nothing to download, no admin rights needed and no updates to manage.
VFlux Collect forms can optionally be added to a phone's home screen so they open like an app and work offline.
Create a free account, then upload a CSV or Excel file on the dashboard page. VFluxBoard reads your columns, works out which are numbers, dates and categories, and suggests a starting set of charts automatically. Most people have a working dashboard within a few minutes.
Yes. Each person gets their own login, and an administrator can control exactly which tools and features each user is allowed to open โ for example giving a field officer access to Collect but not to the Analytics Studio.
Government programme teams, NGOs, universities, researchers and trainers โ anyone working with survey or monitoring data who needs answers quickly without a dedicated data team or a licence budget.
VFluxBoard processes data in your browser, which keeps it fast and private but does set a practical ceiling. It is comfortable with datasets in the tens of thousands of rows. Very large datasets โ hundreds of thousands of rows and beyond โ are better handled by a dedicated enterprise BI platform.
Yes. Load more than one table or sheet and open the Data Model, where you drag a column from one table onto a matching column in another to create a relationship. You can use a left, inner or full outer join, or simply append (stack) tables that share the same columns. VFlux shows how many rows matched so you can spot key problems immediately, and relationships can be changed later without rebuilding your charts.
Fourteen chart types: bar, horizontal bar, grouped bar, line, area, pie, doughnut, scatter, radar, gauge, bubble map, filled (choropleth) map, KPI card and data table. Charts are suggested automatically when you upload data, and you can style one chart then apply that styling to every chart in one click.
The Analytics Studio has 35 analyses, including:
Every result comes with a plain-English explanation of what it means, plus a technical note written for researchers.
Yes, and this has been checked rather than assumed. Every statistical function is tested against SciPy and statsmodels, the reference libraries used across research and industry. In the latest run, 63 of 63 checks passed with a deviation of 0.00000 โ meaning the numbers match what SPSS or R would produce.
Use ๐งฎ Group numbers on the Columns step. Pick a numeric column such as Age or Income and choose equal-width
bands, equal-frequency (quantile) bands, or type your own cut-points like 18, 35, 60. You see a live
frequency preview before committing, and the original numeric column stays untouched so you can still use it for
averages and tests.
Press Share to create a link. Each link carries its own security settings: you can filter it so the recipient sees only their district's rows, restrict it to one named user, set an expiry date, choose which sections are visible, and revoke it at any time. Recipients do not need an account or a licence.
It can produce a formatted draft. The Research Paper builder generates a full IMRaD structure โ abstract, introduction, methodology, results with proper statistical tables, discussion, conclusion and references โ in APA, MLA, Chicago or IEEE style, and can search CrossRef for references in your field.
Yes. VFluxBoard exports a ready Tableau workbook (.twbx) and publishes a live CSV endpoint that Power BI or Tableau can connect to directly. Teams that already own those licences often use VFluxBoard as the collection and preparation layer.
Dashboards are responsive and viewable on a phone or tablet. Building a dashboard is far more comfortable on a laptop or desktop.
Two ways. Either upload the questionnaire you already have as an Excel sheet โ VFlux reads it, validates it and turns it into a working form โ or build it from scratch in the visual builder by adding questions, options and logic in the browser.
Fourteen types: text, integer, decimal, select one, select multiple, date, time, date-and-time, note, GPS location, image, signature, barcode and calculated fields. You can also set skip logic, validation rules, cascading selects (state โ district โ block), groups and repeating sections.
Yes. Open the form once with a connection and it is cached on the device. After that, collectors can fill and submit forms without a signal โ responses are saved on the phone and sync automatically when the connection returns, with a pending count shown so nothing is lost silently. The form can also be added to the home screen so it opens like an app.
For very long stretches offline in remote areas, the native ODK Collect app is still the more robust choice.
Yes, genuinely so. VFlux Collect converts your questionnaire into a real XLSForm, validated with ODK's own
pyxform engine. You can download that form and run it in ODK Collect and ODK Central exactly as you
would any other ODK form โ so you are never locked in. VFluxBoard can also read submissions from an existing ODK
Central server.
Create a collector link with fields pre-set and locked โ for example fixing the district and block for that enumerator so they cannot be mistyped. Submissions are automatically tagged with who collected them, which then appears as a column in your data.
Submissions appear in a table you can export to CSV or Excel, and one click turns them into a full VFluxBoard dashboard with charts, filters and statistical analysis โ no export and re-import step in between.
Your presenter screen shows a six-digit code and a QR code. Participants open the link in any browser on any device, type the code or scan, and they are in. No app to install and no account needed.
Eight interaction types: multiple choice, quiz question with a correct answer, word cloud, rating, scale, ranking, open text, and audience Q&A with upvoting. You can attach an image to any question, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and the video plays on both the big screen and every participant's phone.
Yes โ and this is unusual. Upload an Excel, CSV, Word or PDF file and VFlux Poll reads it and creates the questions automatically, including options, correct answers and time limits. A downloadable template is provided if you would rather start from a clean sheet.
There is a full game-show presentation mode โ hexagon answer tiles, a golden countdown timer, lock-in animation and sound effects โ which changes the atmosphere of a training room completely. Behind it sits a proper scoring engine: faster correct answers earn more points, you choose how many winners to show, and there is a live leaderboard.
Turn on shuffle mode and each participant gets the questions in a different order, so glancing at a neighbour's screen does not help. This is useful when a quiz is being used for genuine assessment.
Yes. Switch on Q&A moderation and every new audience question waits in a queue that only you see, with a counter showing how many are pending. Approve the ones you want the room to see and hide the rest. Turning moderation on does not retroactively hide questions the room has already seen.
There is no licence cap. In practice VFlux Poll is well suited to classrooms, training rooms and departmental sessions. It has not yet been load-tested at conference scale with several thousand simultaneous participants โ for an event of that size, a platform proven at that scale is the safer choice.
Yes. Export full results โ every question, every response and the leaderboard โ as CSV, Excel or a PDF report, at no cost.
Not yet. VFlux Poll runs in the browser, so you switch windows to present it. If polls running inside your slide deck or inside a Teams or Zoom call is essential to you, Slido and Mentimeter are stronger on that point today.
It turns a dataset into a properly formatted, presentation-quality report โ cover page, summary, KPI cards, charts with written interpretations and data tables โ which you can export as a PDF or a Word document.
Either upload a CSV or Excel file directly, or import an existing VFluxBoard workspace so the report is built on the same data as your dashboard.
No. Auto-build analyses your dataset and generates a complete magazine-style report โ a cover, a written summary, KPI cards and several chart sections each with an auto-generated interpretation, laid out in an alternating design. Every part of it stays editable, so treat it as a strong first draft rather than a finished document.
Yes โ Executive (summary, key metrics, overview chart, insights), Data (summary, analysis, data table), Survey (response summary, response counts, results) and Blank if you would rather start empty. You can also set your organisation's name, brand colour and logo.
VFluxBoard does its analysis inside your browser โ when you upload a file for a dashboard, the calculations happen on your own device rather than on a server. Saved workspaces, survey submissions and poll responses are stored in the VFlux database on our server so you can come back to them.
Yes. The site runs over HTTPS, so everything between your browser and the server is encrypted. Passwords are never stored in readable form โ they are hashed with bcrypt, which means even we cannot read them.
Yes. An administrator can switch individual tools and features on or off per user โ for example allowing someone to use Collect and view dashboards, but not to export data or open the Analytics Studio. These checks are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface.
Yes, and this is one of VFlux's stronger features. Every share link can be filtered to a single district or region, restricted to one named user, given an expiry date, and limited to particular sections of the dashboard. You can revoke any link instantly and see how many times it has been opened.
Use the "Forgot password" link and enter your email. For security we never reveal whether an email address has an account โ that would let anyone check which addresses are registered โ so you will always see the same message. Check your inbox and spam folder; if nothing arrives, that address may not be registered yet and you can create an account instead.
Not currently. Submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our server, but VFlux Collect does not yet offer end-to-end encrypted submissions. If your study involves highly sensitive personal data and your protocol requires encryption at rest, ODK Collect supports it โ and VFlux Collect can generate the ODK form for you.
